Michael McKinson is set to grab his opportunity with both hands when he takes on Chris Kongo on next month’s Alexander Povetkin vs. Dillian Whyte 2 bill.

It sees McKinson (19-0, 2 KOs) meet Kongo (12-0, 7 KOs) on March 6, with the event broadcast live on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK, and on DAZN in all other markets excluding the UK and Ireland.

Unbeaten McKinson has been craving a big fight for a while, and is ready to make a huge impact by overcoming fellow undefeated fighter Kongo.

McKinson told IFL TV: “Since my last fight I stayed in the gym and stayed fit as I knew a chance could come. I was born to be on the big stage and born to be successful, and I can’t wait to prove people wrong in this fight.

“I’m the most real fighter in the welterweight division. When I say something I stick my bit. Since my last fight the main name I called out was Chris Kongo, it’s something I’ve wanted for a while.

“My path is set up now, and I’m fully focused on my opponent. The stakes are high for this fight. For the next six weeks I’ll be obsessed with beating Chris Kongo.

“I’ve kept on top of things as I knew something big was around the corner. I got the call saying we’re making the fight and I can’t wait.”
