(COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.) The upcoming World Series of Boxing (WSB) show featuring the Miami Gallos and Memphis Force that was scheduled to take place Saturday, February 5 in Miami, is being postponed based on a decision handed down by the Florida State Boxing Commission (FSBC) Monday.

The FSBC provided WSB and Miami Gallos General Manager Mike Sophia a written denial of their boxing event permit application late in the day on Monday citing a lack of availability of Boxing Commission staff.

The World Series of Boxing and the Florida State Boxing Commission will work together to determine when the event can be made up.  The Miami Gallos have three home dates remaining.

"We've encountered a number of obstacles in launching the WSB worldwide and this is the latest in terms of trying to complete our inaugural season," said WSB Chief Operating Officer Ivan Khodabakhsh.  "We have worked diligently with each State Athletic Commission to work within the rules and guidelines they have set forth, but the decision by the FSBC to deny our request assures us that there is much more work to be done. We will not allow these problems to overcome what has been a great first season thus far."

The Miami Gallos are currently third overall with a 3-4 record through seven weeks of the WSB season. The Gallos have won all three bouts in Miami. The Memphis Force sit in last place with a 1-6 record.

The other bout taking place this week will feature the Mexico City Guerreros hosting the Los Angeles Matadors Friday evening in a battle of the top-two teams in WSB Americas.
