Angel "Memo" Heredia is very pleased with Jean Pascal's performance this past Saturday night in Atlanta, Georgia.

The WBA world light heavyweight champion retained his title with a split decision victory over former champion Badou Jack.  Pascal got off to a strong start and dropped Badou in route to building a big lead in the first half of the time.

Jack was able to turn it around in the second half and ultimately get a knockdown in the 12th round but Pascal had already built up a big enough lead to secure the victory.

Even though Pascal was the champion, he was a 3-1 underdog to Jack who was coming off of a unanimous decision loss to Marcus Browne. Pascal has now won 4 out of his last 5 fights.

"I was very happy and obviously his performance was good. He came in very good shape and hurt Badou plenty of times. He got hurt himself and he was able to recover and finish up strong. It was a good fight. I am very happy and proud of Jean and happy that Badou was able to come out of it healthy," Heredia told BoxingScene.com.

The 37-year-old Quebec based fighter held his training camp in Puerto Rico. Heredia is based in Las Vegas, Nevada and has several clients throughout the world. For this camp he had his right hand man Angel Martinez implement the program that he had set up for Pascal's training camp.

Needless to say it produced the desired result as Pascal appears rejuvenated.

"I develop all of the training plans, supplementation, regimens and training blocks. In this case with Jean I gave the responsibility to my second coach Angel Martinez to follow up my programs. I have a lot of trust in my guy. I have been his mentor for almost 7 years now," Heredia stated.
