Bektemir Melikuziev continues to move forward with his career.

However, there remains a part of the Uzbek southpaw that wants to recapture the ‘Bek the Bully’ aura of invincibility predating his lone career defeat.

The 2016 Olympic silver medalist and current super middleweight prospect has won three straight since a crushing June 2021 knockout loss to veteran spoiler Gabriel Rosado. Melikuziev is a strong favorite to continue that streak when he faces San Diego’s Ulises Sierra (17-2-2, 10KOs) this Saturday at YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California. The mission is simple—win this weekend, then plot revenge.

“If everything goes well [on Saturday], I want a rematch with Gabe Rosado," Melikuziev declared during Thursday’s pre-fight press conference in the grand ballroom at Renaissance Los Angeles Airport Hotel.

Melikuziev (10-1, 8KOs) enjoyed an ambitious start to his career, rattling off seven straight victories in dominant fashion.

He was well on his way to a career-best knockout win over Rosado (26-16-1, 15KOs), flooring the Philadelphia native in the opening round of their June 2021 clash in El Paso, Texas. Disaster struck in the form of a perfectly timed right hand, causing Melikuziev to pitch forward and collapse to the canvas.

The 26-year-old from Shoimbek, Uzbekistan—who lives and trains in Indio, California—hasn’t lost a round in the three wins that have followed. The immediate goal is to continue that run through Saturday before revisiting old business.

“For me the priority is this fight,” insisted Melikuziev. “I’m only concentrating on this Saturday and the guy in front of me.”

Melikuziev-Sierra is part of a four-fight DAZN telecast headlined by a scheduled twelve-round welterweight clash between local favorite Alexis Rocha (21-1, 13KOs) and Ghana’s George Ashie (33-5-1, 25KOs).
