Former Olympian and 2009 amateur world champion, McWilliams Arroyo (16-2, 13 KO's), began to  make adjustments to his training camp after learning that his HBO televised title fight on HBO was made official for April 23 at the Forum in Los Angeles, California.

Arroyo will challenge Nicaragua's Roman Gonzalez (44-0 and 38KO's), king of the WBC's flyweight championship.

"It's official. We will train very hard for this fight. An HBO televised fight for the title is the dream of every athlete and now it will come true. It's a great opportunity and so I grabbed the fight. I want to fight the best. The money is important but so is my dream of becoming a champion. And we'll make some adjustments in training. I know it's going to be rather hard and a tough fight but I also know that I am going to make it difficult and hard [for Gonzalez]," Arroyo said.

'Chocolatito' González, a three division world champion, is regarded as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.

Arroyo had an outstanding amateur career internationally and was not only amateur world champion in 2009 in Milan, Italy, but also among his many achievements he won the gold medal in his division in the Central American Games in 2006 in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia - where he beat Cuban fighter Yan Barthelemy.

In 2007 he won gold at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and in 2008 he was the standard-bearer for Puerto Rico in the Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

"I am naturally at 112 pounds but will not get carried away by that. I've seen him and I know he's really tough. We will prepare thoroughly. He's going to rise up to 126-pounds [on the night of the fight], so we'll be on even terms. This Saturday we are going to get together to make some adjustments and do other things that are in my benefit," Arroyo said.
