Gennady Golovkin wasn’t the only unbeaten world champion who benefitted from Willie Monroe Jr.’s decision to not continue in the sixth round Saturday night.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. posted a betting slip Sunday night to his Twitter account that indicated Mayweather won $65,000 because the Golovkin-Monroe middleweight title fight didn’t go more than 5½ rounds. Mayweather bet $50,000 at +130 odds to win $65,000.

Referee Jack Reiss stopped the scheduled 12-round fight 45 seconds into the sixth round Saturday night at The Forum in Inglewood, California. Moments earlier, Monroe (19-2, 6 KOs) reluctantly beat Reiss’ 10 count following the third knockdown Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) scored in the fight. Mayweather would’ve lost his five-figure bet had the fight continued another 46 seconds.

Mayweather, famous for gambling large sums of money on sporting events, posted a picture of three other betting slips from NBA playoff games along with the Golovkin-Monroe winning ticket. He Tweeted that he risked $350,000 combined on the four winning wagers and walked away with $872,272.73.
