Former five division world champion Floyd Mayweather, 45-years-old, is planning to have another exhibition fight this year.

Back in June 2021, Mayweather took part in an eight round exhibition bout with Youtuber star Logan Paul. There was no official scoring and no winner was announced, but Mayweather's performance looked a bit off - although the much younger Paul held a tremendous size advantage with at least 30 to 40 pounds of muscle.

After that fight, Mayweather proclaimed that he would never enter the ring again.

However, Mayweather returned to the ring this past Saturday night in another exhibition bout which place in Abu Dhabi, as he dominated 45-year-old Don Moore over eight rounds.

Moore, although a former Mayweather sparring partner and undefeated with an 18-0 record, was seriously overmatched and barely saw the final bell of the eight round. Mayweather punished him in the second half and dropped him with a heavy body shot in the eight.

The entire event was nearly derailed.

Mayweather, who retired in 2017, was originally scheduled to fight Moore on May 14 in Dubai. The entire event was postponed, and moved to Abu Dhabi, after the President of the UAE unexpectedly passed away.

"It's been a little rollercoaster ride for all of the fighters," Mayweather said. "I want to commend the fighters on just being patient. These types of things happen in life, we go through ups, we go through downs but we stand strong, stand together and we made it happen.

"I just want to say thank you to everyone that's here. I want to say thank you to everyone in the whole UAE for having patience and all of the fighters up here who are unbelievable and the sponsors."

After the contest with Moore had concluded, Mayweather promised to come back to the ring later in the year - in the UAE.

"I will bring another fight back to the UAE this year. [The opponent] is a secret. I don't want to let the cat out the bag right now. But we have an opponent, and I choose the UAE," Mayweather said.
