Floyd Mayweather arrived in Miami to announce an exhibition with one member of the Paul family and wound up getting into an altercation with another.

A relatively tame press conference ended in chaos, as Mayweather had to be physically restrained following a heated incident with Jake Paul. The scuffle came after Mayweather merely exchanged words onstage with Jake’s older brother, Logan Paul who faces the Hall of Fame-elected former pound-for-pound king June 6 on Pay-Per-View from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

Security and members of both teams were quick to rush in to separate Mayweather and Jake Paul. Mayweather claimed during the press conference that he would be willing to fight both brothers on the same night. The younger Paul decided to take him up on the offer.

“You want to fight? Let me call Al Haymon and make it happen,” Jake Paul said while getting in Mayweather’s face.

“Absolutely. I don’t need Al Haymon,” Mayweather replied. “I’m my own boss.”

The verbal exchange quickly grew ugly after Paul snatched Mayweather’s hat off his head. Mayweather immediately charged after Paul, with the situation escalating before both parties were separated. Security detail had to remain in between the two, with Paul doing his best to laugh off the incident while Mayweather took serious issue with the influencer’s attempt to crash the party.

“You don’t play with me,” shouted Mayweather as he walked toward Paul before security once again intervened. “Don’t disrespect me. Don’t you ever disrespect me, motherf-----.”

The wild ending to the session far exceeded the energy that took place on stage where Mayweather and Logan Paul traded mild insults one month ahead of their exhibition between worldwide influencers.

“We got two fake fighters. One… and two,” Mayweather began the session, pointing to Logan Paul on stage and Jake Paul who was in the crowd filming on Instagram Live for his older brother. “Everyone is entitled to feel how they want to feel. Come out and tune in June 6. I’ve been doing this 25 years.

“I’m willing to fight both on the same night.”

The older Paul initially seemed unfazed.

“The best fighter in the world don’t know shit about me,” insisted Paul (0-1), whose lone pro fight resulted in a disputed split decision defeat to KSI in Nov 2019. “And it sucks that a YouTuber is going to take this over.”

Mayweather (50-0, 27KOs) entered his last official fight in Aug. 2017, knocking out UFC superstar Conor McGregor in the 10th round of their Showtime PPV headliner. The former five-division champion returned in Dec. 2018, when he traveled to Japan to face local hero and celebrated kickboxing champion Tenshin Nakasuwa in a non-sanctioned bout fought strictly under boxing rules.

Mayweather scored a 1st round knockout in their exhibition in Japan, where he learned of Logan Paul disrespecting the culture. Paul—a YouTube personality and social media influencer with more than 15.4 million followers on Instagram—traveled to Japan, where he recorded and posted a video blog of a man who recently hanged himself in Mount Fiji’s Aokigahara, infamously known as the suicide forest.

“The last time I performed, it was in Japan,” noted Mayweather. “[Logan Paul] was very disrespectful to the people in Japan.”

The elder Paul—who has since repeatedly apologized over the aforementioned video and took a three-week social media hiatus—didn’t take too kindly to the comments, though holding his tongue until after the press conference.

“I’m gonna f--- him up,” claimed Paul. “This sh!t’s not even fun.”

His younger summed it up best, even before the post-press conference altercation.

“It’s personal now,” noted Jake Paul.
