Trainer Al Bonanni, who put Ricardo Mayorga in shape for Saturday's fight against Miguel Cotto at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, expects a very exciting fight. He agrees with Emanuel Steward, the trainer of Cotto, that a twelve round decision is not going to happen. One of the fighters is getting knocked out. Bonnani saw Cotto take a lot of punishment in most of his recent fights. He wants to see what Cotto has left in the early rounds.

"For me, both fighters are past their prime. I think Cotto has taken a lot of punches and I want to see how he responds during those early rounds. Mayorga was out for two years because he was involved in a car accident, but I think we are at the gates to see a fight similar to the kind that were held between Arturo Gatti and Micky Ward," Bonanni told Carlos Gonzalez.
