Due to a minor training injury, ex-IBF world champion Chris Namus has been forced to postpone her May 28 fight against Mary Spencer (4-0, 3 KOs) to June 23.

The battle will take place at the EOTTM event to celebrate the Fête nationale at the Casino de Montréal. So instead, on May 28, the EOTTM protégé will confront Yamila Esther Reynoso (12-10-3, 8 KOs) for a scheduled 8 rounds, simulcast from the Brampton CAA Center on www.punchinggrace.com.

It was paramount for Spencer to stay active and to take a fight on the May 28 event so to stay on track with her plan to scale the world classifications quickly.

“The short-term goal, for Mary as well as for us, is to get a championship fight. To get there, she has to push ahead through the classifications, and so she needs to take advantage of every opportunity to step into the ring,” insists EOTTM president Camille Estephan.

“It’s also paramount to get Chris Namus into the ring and to reschedule the fight, not only because it’ll be an action-filled nail-biter for boxing fans given Namus’ history in Québec, but also for the challenge she represents for Spencer at this point in her career,” he adds.
