Carson, California, StubHub Center - Featherweight contender Marvin Sonsona (20-1-1, 15 KOs) had a tougher time than expected in what was billed as a stay-busy fight, winning a close ten round majority decision over Jonathan Arrellano. Sonsona countered with lefts, but Arrellano (15-6-2, 3 KOs) scored with rights during the fight. One judge scored the bout 95-95, while the other two judges scored the bout 96-94 in favor of Sonsona.

It was Sonsona's first fight since last June's ten round decision win over Wilfredo Vasquez Jr. on the Miguel Cotto vs. Sergio Martinez undercard from New York's Madison Square Garden.
