Former world champion Roman 'Rocky' Martinez is well ware of the offensive explosiveness, the speed and technical capacity of Vasyl Lomachenko.

Last June at Madison Square Garden's Theater in Manhattan, Lomachenko pulled in a vicious fifth round knockout of Martinez to capture the WBO super featherweight world title. A lot of experts viewed it as the "Knockout of The Year" for 2016.

On April 8 in Oxon Hill, Maryland - Lomachenko will defend the title against Martinez's countryman, Jason Sosa.

Sosa is very confident in his ability to upset the odds the long odds, but many experts believe he is in way over his head in the fight.

In December of 2015, Sosa went to a twelve round draw with Nicholas Walters. Most observers saw Walters as the clear winner of the fight. Lomachenko, last November, dominated Walters and made him quit in the fight.

For his preparation, Sosa decided to use the municipal gymnasium of Dorado. Martinez works and trains there. He plans to give Sosa some advice, to help make him better prepared for the tough fight.

"I've seen [Sosa] fight a couple of times," Martinez said to Jose Sanchez. "The fight [with Lomachenko] is very difficult. But I honestly see him talking with a lot of desire and motivation. That is very important for any athlete. If he has the desire and is well prepared - anything can happen in boxing. When one has that courage, that heart and is a warrior - they have to kill him to beat him.

"I'm going to talk to Sosa about some workouts to improve mobility, because Lomachenko moves fast and steps around you, confuses you. You have to fight back and you can not let him get angles. If you let him fight his fight, there is no way to beat him."
