WBO super featherweight champion Roman "Rocky" Martinez has promised to knock Orlando Salido out if the two of them step in the ring against each other for a trilogy fight.

Martinez won their first bout, and the WBO title in April. They fought in a rematch on the Floyd Mayweather vs. Andre Berto undercard on September 12th from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. It was very unpopular end9ing with a twelve round split draw. Both fighters were down in the bout.

Salido has demanding an immediate rematch and submitted a request for that fight with the WBO.

Martinez saw the "fight twice" and believes he "clearly won" - although many saw Salido as the deserving victor.

To erase any doubts, Martinez wants to end a third fight with a knockout.

"Next time, I'm going to knock him out. I have no doubt about that," Martinez told Jose Sanchez. "The next time I face Salido, I'm going to knock him out."

"There are no excuses. I've never made excuses for anything. I was there. I fought twelve rounds and Showtime really liked the fight. This is a business. I have to see what they put on the table for the negotiations. If a good deal is presented, I have no problem (with a third fight with Salido)."

"I think that if we reach an agreement, the fight should be around a date in January or February. But at the moment I have to rest."
