According to undefeated middleweight contender Martin Murray (23-0-1, 10KOs), promoter Lou DiBella needs to offer more money if he wants him to face Irish star Andy Lee (27-1, 19KOs) in Madison Square Garden on March 17th, as part of the undercard to Sergio Martinez's upcoming bout with Matthew Macklin. Lee's camp is focusing their attention on Murray after British boxer Darren Barker turned down an offer to fight. Murray is coming off a close points draw with WBA champion Felix Sturm and says he would be "confident of beating" Lee.

“I would definitely be open to fighting Andy Lee on March 17th but it’s got to be worth it,” Murray told Mirror Sport. “Lou DiBella has put an offer in but it’s not right at all so we’ve rejected it. I know that Andy is a world class fighter and trained by a world class trainer. I think me and him would make for a great fight. Andy is by all accounts a good guy too. He contacted me on twitter wishing me luck for the Sturm fight which I thought was good of him. I’d love to fight in Madison Square Garden and it would be a perfect opportunity for me to get noticed in America.”
