Martin Murray has warned Roberto Garcia that he will be taking his frustration out on the Mexican.

After a fight with Billy Joe Saunders fell through on two occasions, Murray now faces the WBC Interim Middleweight Champion at The O2 this Saturday.

Speaking to the BoxNation Podcast, Murray explained how he and his trainer Jamie Moore had to switch the focus in training just a few weeks ago.

"We've been training for a southpaw runner, and now we've got [an] orthodox who just comes forward, complete opposite ends of the spectrum. I'm a seasoned campaigner - I've been in with all types of fighters.

"He's more suited to me than Billy Joe Saunders," admitted Murray. "I won't have to go looking for this guy, whereas I would've had to for Billy. He's going to be in my face. It's going to be a tough fight, he's a good fighter. He's coming off a good unbeaten run and he's confident. I think this guy's made for me."

Winning the WBC's Silver belt could give Murray a number one ranking with the governing body, setting up a potential rematch with current World Champion Gennady Golovkin.

"I just know with him being Silver Champion, me beating him puts me in a great position. I don't know what craic is with me being mandatory after one defence, but I hope so," said the St Helens man.

Murray was very grateful his team could secure a notable fight at short notice, because he was unsure if he would have boxed again this year otherwise, meaning he would've missed out on a payday.

"The thing is, the most important thing for me is my family and family life. Next month I've got family holidays that my wife and kids have been looking forward to all year. There was no way I was going to cancel that and put my life on hold," he added.
