Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez (56-7-1, 40KOs) has rejected the idea of facing Manny Pacquiao for a fifth time.

Last week, Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank told BoxingScene.com that Marquez - if he decides to continue fighting - would be a possibility to fight Pacquiao in his 2016 comeback fight. Arum also named Amir Khan, Terence Crawford, Lucas Matthysse and Kell Brook.

"Yes, I believe they are interested [in that fight], but I no longer am and that's a fact," Marquez told ESPN Deportes.

The 42-year-old veteran has been away from the ring since last May's twelve round decision win over Mike Alvarado. Promoter Fernando Beltran plans to speak with him in the next few weeks about a possible year-end return.

Marquez brutally knocked out Pacquiao in the sixth round in their fourth and what appears to be the final meeting between the two in 2012. They fought to a draw in 2004 and Pacquiao came out as the winner, controversially, in two close decisions in 2008 and 2013.

Since the knockout loss, Pacquiao and Arum have tried to get Marquez back in the ring. He doesn't seem to care about the money involved in the fight. He wants that knockout win to remain as the last image of their four fight series.
