Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez, 43-years-old, is reflecting back on the biggest win of his Hall of Fame career.

The Mexican veteran has seen very little action since knocking out his career rival Manny Pacquiao in six rounds back in 2012. It was their fourth meeting.

Pacquiao and Marquez fought to a controversial draw in 2004, and then Pacquiao secured controversial decision wins over Marquez in 2008 and 2011. Marquez strongly felt he was robbed in the first three fights - and a fourth showdown was then finalized to settle their rivalry once and for all. Both boxers were down in the earlier rounds and it appeared that Pacquiao was on the verge of knocking Marquez out - but in the closing seconds of the sixth round, Marquez landed huge right hand that knocked Pacquiao out cold.

"I can only say that it was divine justice. Everyone saw the previous fights, and in the end I won in the most clear and forceful way. He even sought out and asked for the fifth fight, but it was never going to be given to him because it was no longer required," Marquez told Ivan Bustos.

"If the fourth [fight] had been just as controversial as the previous ones, I would have personally signed on for the fifth, because I would not have felt good about myself. But there was no doubt [about the ending]. When I saw Manny lying on the canvas, I said, 'Now try to steal it from me if you can.'"

During his long involvement in the sport, Marquez has experienced his share of controversy.

"As for corruption I have never had to witness negotiations where judges were bought, but I have lived it.... in the third fight with Pacquiao the bets were 12 to 1 in favor of him and it was speculated that if I won, Las Vegas was going to break with losses of $1.2 billion. And you already know the result [of the outcome]," Marquez said.
