Time and time again, former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez has rejected the idea of a fifth meeting with Manny Pacquiao.

They last met in 2012, when Marquez scored one of the most stunning one-punch knockouts in recent years. He caught Pacquiao cold with a few seconds remaining in the sixth round.

The fourth bout took place after the lingering controversy of their third meeting in 2011. Although Marquez claimed to have been robbed in their first two fights, he was extremely upset with the outcome of the third bout, which he felt was an overwhelming win his favor. Instead he lost a majority decision on scores of 114-114, 115-113 and 116-112.

Pacquiao is looking to return, for the final time in his career, in early 2016. Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who promotes Pacquiao, says Marquez is the Filipino fighter's top choice. Marquez has rejected that idea in several interviews over the course of the last few weeks.

"I don't think so [that fifth fight will happen]. I've said it before, they are going to do to me in the fifth fight exactly as they did to me in the third one. I'm never going to take the power away from myself [of the final outcome]," Marquez said.

"If I did this [fight], the people would start to turn against me. They would say that I'm doing it just for the money, for the financial aspect. But I believe honor and pride is worth a lot more than the millions of dollars they are willing to pay me."
