On August 14th WBA/WBO/IBF/WBC Franchise lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez will make a mandatory title defense against George Kambosos in Miami, Florida. The bout will headline a pay-per-view that will be distributed by upstart streaming company Triller.

This will be third card put on by Triller and the first one that will be a traditional boxing card that isn’t headlined by a retired legend or YouTube star.

As part of the scheduled undercard, 2016 US Olympian Charles Conwell (14-0) who will face rugged veteran Mark DeLuca (27-2).

DeLuca last fought in February when he stopped Michi Muñoz in two rounds in Mexico. He has now won three fights in a row since being stopped by former champion Kell Brook last year.

“I feel good coming off of a couple wins after the Kell Brook fight. That fight taught me a lot and I gained a lot of experience that I feel will help me against Conwell. Charles is a ‘technical tough guy’ with a fan friendly style that should compliment mine. Media platforms such as Triller seem to be the future of boxing. I’m excited to be a part of it,” DeLuca told BoxingScene.com.

The 33-year-old Massachusetts native has a lot of respect for Conwell and believes that a win over him will put him in the mix for even bigger fights in the near future.

“A win over a hot prospect like Charles Conwell will put me right back where I feel I deserve to be. I’ll be fully prepared and eager to win,” DeLuca stated.

Conwell went 3-0 in his pandemic shortened 2020 campaign. He has eleven knockouts among his fourteen career victories.
