Former welterweight champion Antonio Margarito is not concerned that his upcoming opponent, Ramon 'Inocente' Alvarez, is being assisted in the gym by his very popular younger brother, two-division world champion Saul 'Canelo 'Alvarez.

With the tentative date of August 20th in the Arena Mexico City or on August 13 at the Arena Monterrey, Margarito says he is waiting for final confirmation to accelerate his camp. For weeks he's been training in the border area.

"The truth is that I do not care that 'Canelo' is helping him box, because when he climbs in the ring it will be just him and me. I think the individual who has the most influence, because he's the only one who will climb in the ring with us - will be the referee," Margarito told ESPN Deportes.

"It is true that Ramon is a strong fighter. I will admit that there has been a lot of talk about the fight with 'Maromerito' Páez, who was a young fighter and now many people think I'm finished. I'm a true fighter, but age does not forgiv.  I've been watching my body. I have not stopped exercising, maybe I did not put the gloves on but I always exercised," said Margarito, who has a record of 39-8 and 27 knockouts.

"And while I was rusty in my return in March and my legs did not have the mobility I wanted, in the end I beat 'Maromerito' and this time it will be the same outcome. I'm going against another young fighter and I'm ready for war."

Regarding the date of the fight against Alvarez, he said he was initially ready for a date of July 30, and then told it would be on August 13 and now it may take place on August 20.

"I'm training, all I need is for someone to tell me when it is. I have enough time to prepare well, nothing but hope they give me the green light to put the accelerator on," said Margarito.
