Dortmund, Germany - Christina Hammer, a multi-time multi-version female champion, showed her best boxing skills in a shutout against her familiar opponent - Sweden's Maria Lindberg, whom she had beaten six years ago to defend the WBO middleweight title for the first time.

This time WBO maroon belt was accompanied by the green belt of the World Boxing Council, one Hammer captured the last fight out against Kali Reis. Lindberg, 40, much shorter and stockier than the champion, tried to find her luck inside but Hammer, 26, was considerably faster than the Swede. She moved better, avoided most dangerous punches and used her jab well. All of the rounds were almost identical, as all of Lindberg's attempts to endanger Hammer were totally fruitless.

After ten complete rounds, all three judges had it 100-90 - for Christina Hammer, who retained her WBO belt for the ninth time. Hammer (21-0, 9 KOs) is often considered to be a prime target for rapidly rising two-time Olympic champion Claressa Shields, who has recently debuted as a pro. Lindberg gets down to 15-2-2, 8 KOs.

In a fight that looked more like a clowning contest than actually a boxing match, Germany-born Bosnian Alem Begic (17-0, 14 KOs) was limited to rare offensive spurts and a body of defensive work by the Ukrainian Artem Redko, who imitated the Drunken Master, fighting with his hands down, shaking his body in numerous dimensions and frustrating his opponent with unusual tricks, smiles and other taunting. Nevertheless, Redko, 35, has done enough to put a question mark to Begic's undefeated record. The answer has been given by the judges: 59-55, 59-55 - for Begic, and 57-57 - for a majority decision in favour of the Bosnian. Redko is now 21-7-3, 12 KOs.

Heavyweight prospect Hussein Muhammed is yet to hear the final bell after another quick kayo - this time versus well-travelled Ukrainian Maksim Pedyura (14-11-1, 12 KOs). Pedyura was down at the end of the first and three times in round two before referee Juergen Langos has waved it off. All knockdowns were caused by powerful body shots of Hussein, who is now 6-0, 6 KOs.

In another farce collision, undefeated and (on paper) unparalleled German middleweight Ibrahim Guemues (11-0, 11 KOs) showed all of his limitations in a victorious fight against Georgian journeyman Giorgi Abramishvili (17-10-1, 7 KOs). Guemues was throwing bombs with seemingly bad intentions but the Georgian wasn't even remotely rocked even after clean connestions.

In rounds two and three Abramishvili delivered his share of bombs to his opponent, forcting Guemues to retreat at some moments. The fight was even by the end of the four, but during the break the Georgian indicated he was injured and couldn't continue thus making Guemues a winner again.

Bosnian light heavyweight Emil Markic, 33, improved his record to 24-1, 19 KOs, with the second-round stoppage of overmatched (as always) Georgian opponent Beka Aduashvili (21-10, 11 KOs), 19, who was stopped in nine of his ten losses and who has never won outside of his native land. Markic's record, though impressive on paper, tells little about his boxing ability as the Bosnian has never won of anyone of note.
