From the historical Mile High Station, New Generation Promotions packed the house with enthusiastic fight fans from around the state of Colorado and Kansas. Colorado has experienced lighting shows throughout the week and fans were treated to a few more thunderous, firework shows this evening.

Sporting the hometown colors of blue and orange, Manny Lopez won a wide margin victory over Ramesis Gil. Although the cards were wide, the action wasn’t as Gill was in the fight every second of it. Lopez proved to be too highly skilled for Gil as landed the bigger and more accurate, punches. Izzak Cardona may well be Colorado’s best prospect as continues to knock opponents out in vicious fashion. Orphius White was no match tonight, falling in the second round.

Cardona returns August 1st in Colorado Springs. Ricky Lopez made a valiant return to the win column after suffering a knockout loss in his previous bout. With his hometown fans cheering him on from the rafters, he easily beat the dog shit out of Dewayne Wisdom. Devin Lopez started off slow but found a grove and made quick work of Vic Chambers. His debut has been long awaited but it was successful. Hopefully the younger Lopez remains active.

Lopez Defeats Gil In a Thriller

Ramesis Gil gave Manny Lopez all he can handle over 8 action packed rounds at super lightweight. Both fighters were visibly shaken on a few occasions but it was Lopez’s overall better boxing skills that carried him to the victory.

Lopez is using his size to his advantage as he pushes Gil back with his shots. Gil lands a big right hand and Lopez appears hurt for a moment. Lopez is getting clocked by Gil in the opening round but he lands a counter right hand that wobbles Gil. What a exciting round as both fighters were visibly wobbled and hurt. Gil lands a counter right hand but Lopez responds with a straight to the body. Lopez lands a counter right hand over the top of a jab from Gil. Gil lands his own counter right hand as sweat from Lopez sprays the front row. The left side of Lopez’s face seems to be swelling up. Lopez lands a short right hand to the side of Gil’s head, wobbling him for a split second.

Gil lands a left hook, overhand right to start round three. Lopez responds with his own combination, hurting Gil along the ropes. Gil stops Lopez I’m his tracks with a three punch combination. Both fighters trade right hands in the center of the ring. Lopez rocks Gil with a counter right hand to end the third. Lopez is landing short punches on the inside to start round four. Lopez is enjoying his best round of the fight as he fights patiently and smart from the outside. Gil comes on strong as the round comes to an end.

Both fighters land combinations to start the fifth. Lopez connects after Gil is off balance from swinging widely. Both fighters trade combinations in the center of the ring. Gil continues to apply pressure in the final seconds of the round. The fighters are standing and trading in the center of the ring to start round six. Lopez is attacking the body with left hooks as the round continues. Gil opens with some combinations towards the end of the round but Lopez has clearly taken over the fight heading into the seventh round.

Heavy leather is flying in round seven as Gil catches Lopez during an exchange in the center of the ring. Gil lands another right hand through the guard of Lopez. Gil is putting together combinations here in the seventh round. Lopez begins to pepper Gil with his jab towards the end of the round. Gil opens round eight with a left hook to the body of Lopez. Lopez is sticking and moving with his jab. Gil wobbles Lopez with a left hook in the center of the ring. Lopez responds with his own left hooks as he has Gil trapped along the ropes.

Judges Ed Kugler and Stephen Blea score the bout 79-73 while Steve Waldman scores 77-75 for your winner by unanimous decision, Manny Lopez. Lopez improves to 9-1, 5KOs while Gil drops his 7th in a row landing at 8-11-5, KOs.

Cardona Punishes Another Over Matched Opponent

Super middleweight Izzak Cardona proves to be too powerful for Orphius White, leveling him inside of two rounds.

Cardona, usually a fast starter, is being patient in the first round. White is controlling the pace of the fight with his jab. Cardona picks up the pace late in the round but is caught with a right hand by White to end the round. Cardona is unloading power shots onto White as he lays on the ropes. White is beginning to feel the power of Cardona. A huge left hook sends White crashing to the canvass. Goodnight!

Cardona improves to 13-2, 13 KOs while White drops to 7-6-2, 5KOs

Lopez Drops Wisdom Four Times En Route To a Fifth Round TKO

Ricky Lopez and Dewayne Wisdom engaged in a full out war of attrition over five solid rounds at super featherweight. Lopez leveled Wisdom with countless body shots but Wisdom continued to get up and fight on. However, the relentless attack of Lopez was too much as Wisdom could no longer handle it in the 5th round.

Wisdom comes out swinging wildly to the body of Lopez. Lopez is pawing with jab and has been unable to find a spot to unload. Lopez finally walks Wisdom to the ropes and unleashes a combination. Wisdom closes the round with a combination as Lopez fires back with his own.

Wisdom dances in corner between rounds, trying to get Lopez’s attention.

Wisdom is catching Lopez with combinations from the outside. Lopez responds but Wisdom is unfazed and fires back. Lopez lands a nice right hand along the ropes and opens up on Wisdom, Wisdom takes a knee in the corner. Wisdom beats the count, but, Lopez is looking to finish the show as he has Wisdom in trouble in the corner. Lopez continues to pummel Wisdom as the round comes to an end. Lopez was firing on all cylinders in round two. Wisdom is showboating round three as he turns Lopez around and dry humps him along the ropes. Wisdom proceeds to the pound the body of Lopez with right hooks. Lopez is firing back and traps Wisdom on the ropes and unleashes a combination. Lopez is teeing off on Wisdom in the corner as Wisdom ties up. Lopez is looking to finish the fight with every punch as round three comes to an end.

Wisdom record doesn’t indicate the type of fighter he is as he takes everything Lopez has to offer and fights back. Lopez has Wisdom trapped in the corner, unloading combinations. A left hook to the body drops Wisdom for the second time in the fight. Wisdom is tired as Lopez jumps on him following the 8 count. A barrage of punches from Lopez drops Wisodm again. Moments after the 8 count, Lopez wobbles Wisdom with a big left hook to the head. Wisdom survives the round.

Wisdom catches Lopez with a step around left hook to open round five. Lopez continues to trap Wisom in a corner and pound away at his body. Wisdom is truly a blood and guts warrior type fighter as he is getting hit with some heavy artillery. Finally, Lopez lands a vicious body shot and drops Wisdom for the 4th and final time.

Lopez improves 14-4, 5KOs while Wisdom drops to 5-23-1, 2KOs.

Devin Lopez Uses Chambers As Sacrificial Lamb, De-Liver-ing Him in the 2nd

Featherweight Devin Lopez made a successful debut tonight as he pounded away at the body of Vic Chambers. Chambers gave a good effort in round one as Lopez warmed up but it was all Lopez in round two as he was relentless in his attack.

Chambers comes out swinging wildly as Lopez remains calm in the pocket. Lopez unleashes a combination as Chambers covers up in the corner. Chambers, again, swinging wildly as Lopez lays on the ropes. Lopez is attacking the body as the round comes to an end. Lopez is solely focusing on the body as he lays into Chambers along the ropes and in the corners. A right hook to body from Lopez has Chambers gasping for air, sending him to the canvass for an eight count. Lopez mauls Chambers into the corner and proceeds to pound away like a heavy bag in the gym. Chambers folds to the canvass and doesn’t beat the count.

Lopez debuts at 1-0, 1KO and Chambers remains win-less at 0-5.

Hicks Out Points Rosales Over Four Rounds

Undefeated prospect Reshard Hicks of Texas kept his “0” with a tactical decision over Eric Rosales of Kansas.

Hicks, a jr. middleweight, is patient with his attack as he waits for Rosales to come to him. A big right hook from the southpaw Hicks cracks Morales along the ropes. Rosales is firing back with straight lefts of his own. Both fighters are trading on the inside as the round comes to an end. Hicks is quick to land the straight left to open the second round, drilling Rosales seconds in. Hicks looks to have warmed up as he is applying more pressure here in the 2nd. Hicks is now throwing combinations and landing at will but Rosales is firing back on his part. A right hook from Hicks drives Rosales back into the roes as the round comes to an end.

The pace has slowed considerably here in round three as both fighters are fighting cautiously. Hicks is still controlling the action but Rosales isn’t backing down. Hopefully they were saving their energy for a big round four. Both fighters are emptying the tanks to begin the fourth. Hicks is putting together combinations as Rosales looks to land one big shot at a time. Hicks catches Rosales with a counter right hook as Rosales rushes in.

All three judges score the bout the same, 40-36 for your winner by unanimous decision, Reshard Hicks. Hicks improves to 5-0, 2KOs while Rosales drops to 0-4.

Morales Escapes With A Victory, Elerson Better Than His Record Indicates.

Jr. middleweight Efrain Morales slugged it out with spoiler Antoine Elerson over four action packed rounds. Elerson dropped Morales in round two, Morales recovered though and continued to press Elerson over the next two rounds. A point deduction in round four from Elerson played a pivotal part in the decision.

Morales is pressuring Elerson from start, landing his straight right over the shoulder roll defense. A straight right hand wobbles Elerson along the ropes. Elerson didn’t come to lay down though as he catches Morales with a straight right hand midway through the round. The busier Morales clocks Elerson with a straight right hand as the round comes to an end. Morales comes out swinging but is caught with a left hook and hurt badly. Elerson’s follow up attack drops Morales along the ropes. Morales beats the count and continues to slug it out with his opponent. Elerson continues to catch Morales clean, wobbling his foe. Morales is on borrowed time as he has fatigued. It’s a huge round two for the underdog, Elerson.

Elerson cracks Morales with a counter right hand to start round three. Morales is still the aggressor as Elerson has now tired himself out. Elerson looks extremely fatigued as Morales has regained his legs here in the third. Morales has taken back the momentum heading into the final round. Elerson is countering Morales to open round four. Elerson hurts Morales with a straight right down the pipe. The fight is up for grabs at the midway point of the final round. Referee Stephan Blea takes a point from Elerson as he loses his mouthpiece for the third time in the fight. Morales is busier but Elerson is landing the more telling blows. The point deduction could weigh heavily in the outcome of the fight.

Judge Ed Kugler and Steve Waldman score the bout 38-36 for Morales while judge Rob Mullings scores it, 37-37. Efrain Morales is your winner by majority decision. Morales improves to 2-0 while Elerson drops to 2-12, 2KOs.

Escamilla vs Knight

Due to a disprecancy in weight, the bout proceeded as an exhibition only.

David Escamilla is on point to start round one as he cracks Antoine Knight with a straight left hand over the top. Knight is wobbled with a big straight left but fights back along the ropes. Referee Rob Mullings is checking on Knight in his corner between rounds.

Escamilla catches Knight with a right hook as Knight urges him on for more. Moments later as Escamilla has Knight trapped along the ropes, referee Rob Mullings steps in and calls a halt to the action.

Jackson overpowers Roye In Exhibition

In an exhibition bout in the welterweight dividion, Brad Jackson possibly breaks the jaw of Joseph Roye. After a powerful right hand from Jackson and consulting with referee Stephen Blea, Roye decides not to continue.

Overall it was an exciting night of fights inside a venue built for boxing. Manny Lopez continues to improve and I would like to see him in a 50/50 type fight next. Izzak Cardona is a force to be reckoned with as he continues to blow opponents out.
