Last week, BoxingScene.com was on hand at the 5th Street Gym in South Beach, Miami - as a number of contenders prepared for upcoming fights. The former gym of a young Muhammad Ali has become a hotbed for championship fighters and contenders.

Just recently, James DeGale and Chris Eubank Jr. prepared for their fights in the scorching Florida sun. From David Haye to Paulie Malignaggi, here's the latest gym report from Miami Beach as the former champs get ready for their March showdowns.

David Haye: I'm Knocking Out The Scum Bellend

Londoner David Haye is currently in heavy training in Miami Beach as his March 3 date with WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew inches closer.

The former unified cruiserweight champion and WBA heavyweight titlist, Haye ripped off furious combinations with coach Shane McGuigan at Angelo Dundee’s world famous 5th Street Gym on South Beach.

“Only three weeks and six days,” Haye said to his Instagram followers last week, “before I get to violently knockout the scum that is the #Bellend.”

Malignaggi adds new wrinkles for UK return

On the undercard of the Haye-Bellew grudge match, former two-weight champ is Paulie Malignaggi takes on Sam Eggington in a welterweight showdown.

Sparring 10 rounds against three different sparring partners, Malignaggi displayed new wrinkles to his fast-twitch fight game. Bullying his taller sparring partner against the ropes, Malignaggi unleashed sharp flurries on the inside.

“I have to show new dimensions,” Malignaggi said. “When you’re older, you can’t use your legs the same way so you have to find new ways to beat your guy.”

Tarver comeback in the works?

Looking to end a 17-month layoff, former light heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver is rumored to make a return, possibly as early as this month, a source said.

The former champ was seen shadowboxing before lacing up the gloves for an afternoon sparring session.

Malik Scott of Philadelphia (ranked No. 13, BoxRec) has been calling for an All-American showdown with Tarver since 2015, a fight that could propel the winner back into Top 10 status.

"This new generation of boxing seems to have forgot who I am and what I'm about," Tarver said in a recent Twitter, "but I'm fixing to remind them...coming!"
