Experienced trainer, Rudy Perez traveled on Monday to Puerto Rico to devote himself to preparing the Argentine fighter Marco "Chino" Maidana for his upcoming fight on August 27 against former multi-division champion Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero. Maidana will defend the WBA's interim title at junior welterweight.

"We will carry out a great preparation for Maidana and he's going to arrive in perfect condition for his fight. Just as we did in his previous fight with Erik Morales, we will train equally or even stronger for this fight," explained Rudy Perez.

Rudy continued that Marco's fight with Guerrero will be very difficult and complicated because the "Ghost" is a fighter who fought, and beat, other good fighters. Perez will make sure Maidana is very physically and mentally strong for this fight.

"That is why we are mentally prepared to get that victory. We want Maidana to remain as world champion for a long time," Perez said.
