WBA "regular" junior welterweight champion Marcos Maidana has fired back at IBF/WBA unified king Amir Khan, who earlier threw some jabs at Maidana over his recent competition. Khan advised Maidana to face a top opponent like WBO champion Timothy Bradley.

"So, Maidana and his team want me to be his adviser. That’s fine, I’m sure I that can do a better job than them. First bit of advice, fight guys who are in the top ten, like I do. You’ve recently fought [Petr] Petrov, ranked 57th, [Erik] Morales, 20th, [DeMarcus] Corley, 163rd. [Victor] Cayo, 34th, [William] Gonzalez, 250th," Khan wrote.

Maidana had a lot of ammo in response to Khan's barbs, picking apart the British boxer's opponents over the last few years.

"Look at some of Khan's rivals: Oisin Fagan, a semi-retired [Marco Antonio] Barrera, [Andreas] Kotelnik, three months after I fought him, Dimitry Salita and a washed up [Zab] Judah....Wow!," noted Maidana. "The Queen wants no part of me, again. He said it, not a problem, he just should shut up."
