Undefeated Magomed Abdusalamov (16-0, 16KOs), and his manager Boris Grinberg, reject claims that they are not interested in facing Vyacheslav Glazkov (14-0, 10KOs). They were offered the opportunity to face Glazkov on February 23rd in the United States, with NBC Sports televising.

Grinberg clarified the situation:

"Indeed, we received a proposal. Mago was very happy and did not hesitate for a second and said he was ready to accept the challenge. However, [promoter] Sampson [Lewkowicz] spoke to us and we decided that this fight could take place later on. Let Glazkov fight someone ranked in the top 15 and we will arrange a fight with Mago. Glazkov is a good fighter, but his European style is very suitable for us and Mago would gladly come to fight him and score a brutal knockout. Ideally, of course, such a fight should be held as an eliminator for a position to become a mandatory challenger for a title."

For his part, Mago said:

"Yes I want to fight him, but my promoters said they will organize this match later on. It would be a pleasure to fight with him or anyone else. This is why I'm in boxing. This is my job. The selection of opponents, that is the job of my promoters."
