According to a source in RCC Boxing Promotions, which is a relatively new creation of well-known Russian promoter German Titov, its rapidly rising young gun Magomed "The Black Lion" Kurbanov (10-0, 8 KOs) will face a ring legend in his very next fight.

According to the source, former three-division champion Shane Mosley (49-10-1, 41 KOs) has already signed a contract to clash against Kurbanov on May 5 in Ekaterinburg, Russia.

Kurbanov, 21, has scored five wins in 2015 and five more in 2016. His biggest victory is a shutout over Filipino veteran Dennis Laurente in November 2016. Laurente (50-7-5 at the time) was decked once and barely went the distance, losing in dominant fashion on the judges' scorecards.

Mosley, 45, held titles in lightweight (1997-1999), welterweight (2000-2002, 2009-2010) and light middleweight (2003-2004) divisions. However, he is just 3-5-1 since his last big win over Antonio Margarito more than eight years ago. In his latest fight, he has lost to another Russian fighter, David Avanesyan, on points.

On the same card, there will be more familiar names. WBC #10 / WBO #12 welterweight Dmitry Mikaylenko (22-1, 10 KOs), WBO #3 and IBF #11 super featherweight Evgueny Chuprakov (17-0, 9 KOs), another super featherweight Mikhail Alexeev (9-0, 4 KOs) and former IBF featherweight titlist Evgeny Gradovich (22-2-1, 9 KOs) are also scheduled to take part in the show.
