Indio, California - In the co-featured fight, ridiculously busy junior middleweight prospect Neeco Macias overwhelmed previously unbeaten Marvin Cabrera with his activity in each of the six rounds they fought. A demoralized Cabrera couldn’t keep Macias off him and declined to continue following the sixth round of a fight he was losing badly.

The 27-year-old Macias (17-0, 10 KOs) never stopped coming forward and constantly threw punches at Cabrera, who spent much of the fight with his back against the ropes. The 25-year-old Cabrera slipped to 8-1 (6 KOs).

Later Saturday night, Brazil’s Patrick Teixeira recorded his most noteworthy win since Curtis Stevens stopped him in the second round two years ago.

Teixeira expertly out-boxed Nathaniel Gallimore in their eight-round middleweight match to win a unanimous decision. All three judges scored their fight for Teixeira by the same margin, 78-74, because he mostly picked apart Gallimore by being more active and accurate.

The 27-year-old Teixeira (29-1, 22 KOs) improved to 3-0 since suffering the lone loss of his career to Stevens in May 2016.

Teixeira suffered a cut on his forehead from an accidental clash of heads during the second round, but it didn’t seem to hinder him at any point in the fight.

Gallimore lost a second straight fight. Philadelphia’s Julian Williams (25-1-1, 15 KOs, 1 NC) defeated the Jamaican-born, Chicago-based Gallimore by majority decision in his previous bout, April 7 at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Alex Rincon continued the perfect start to his pro career on the Ryan Garcia-Carlos Morales undercard.

Rincon stopped Osbaldo Gonzales in the third round of a scheduled six-rounder at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. The 23-year-old Rincon, a 154-pound prospect from Carollton, Texas, didn’t knock down Gonzales, but he beat up Gonzales throughout a bout that was streamed live via Facebook Watch.

Rincon has knocked out all five of his professional opponents. The 28-year-old Gonzales, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, lost by knockout for the first time in nine pro bouts (6-3, 4 KOs).

Rincon knocked Gonzales backward with a straight left hand in the third round. The fight was stopped soon thereafter, at 2:23 of the third round.

After hurting Gonzales with a left to the body late in the first round, Rincon continued to assault Gonzales’ body throughout the second round. Rincon also buzzed Gonzales with a left uppercut that landed with just over one minute to go in the second round.
