The interim-super flyweight champion of the World Boxing Association, Luis "El Nica" Concepcion, is not overconfident in relation to his next meeting.

"El Nica" Concepcion fights on Thursday December 17 at the Arena Roberto Duran in Panama City against former world champion Giovani Segura of Mexico, as part of the WBA's Knockout To Drugs Festival. The card is being organized by Isthmus Promotions and Events in conjunction with the WBA.

"I have respect for him. If the two of us go in there under optimal conditions - it's going to be a war," predicted Concepcion, who will make his first defense of the 115-pound scepter.

Asked if he thinks the fight will end before the distance, Concepcion said that there is a strong possibility that this result will occur.

"We both have the potential to end the fight in any round, but I'm psyched to go in there with intelligence to win the fight," Concepcion said.

"El Nica" Concepcion has 33 victories in his career, 24 by knockout and has four losses.

Meanwhile, Segura has 28 knockouts from 32 wins, four losses and a draw.
