Centro de Convenciones Figali, Panama City, Panama - WBC silver flyweight world champion Luis “El Nica” Concepcion (31-3, 22 KOs) retained his crown with an eight round technical decision over Carlos “El Divino” Fontes (17-2, 14 KOs). The scores were 88-81, 88-83 and 88-83. Fontes was dropped in the fifth and the seventh.

Welterweight prospect Alberto Mosquera (21-0-2, 14 KOs) knocked out veteran Fidel Monterrosa (31-9-1, 25 KOs) in five rounds, after a hard hook to the liver.

Jonathan Arias (15-9, 13 KOs) upset the heavily favored Ricardo “Matematico” Nunez (26-5, 22 KOs) in two rounds. Nunez got caught and went down twice before taking further punishement, which forced the hand of the referee to stop the action. Nunez loses his second fight in a row after dropping a technical decision to Juan Carlos Reveco last October.
