A fight which may have gone under the radar is the rematch between Thomas Stalker (10-1-2, 2 KOs), and Craig Evans (14-1-1, 3 KOs), for the WBO European Lightweight title this coming Saturday evening. The bout is set to take place on the the undercard of Billy Joe Saunders' attempt at relieving Andy Lee of his WBO World Middleweight title at Manchester Arena.

Stalker and Evans served up a great fight in their last encounter at the same venue in October; a bout that was Stalker's first down at lightweight in the paid ranks. 'The Captain' seemed far more effective at lightweight against Evans and many saw the fight in Thomas' favour.

Despite this judges Dave Parris and Ingo Barrabas both scored the contest a draw to the amazement of many watching on. Stalker, who produced a career best performance that evening, and his team have stated no corners have been cut again in training ahead of a fight they are fully confident of coming out victorious.

"I went into the last fight thinking losing was not an option for me," Stalker told Boxing Scene.

"I proved to myself what I can do and I am full of confidence going into Saturday night. I am expecting a better Craig Evans on Saturday night and I have trained for a better Craig Evans.

"I know there's good fights for me next year so I have trained hard for Saturday night and I know I'm going to win".

A win for Evans on Saturday will put him straight back in the British title picture and give him a world ranking with the WBO. It is a must win for both boxers.

Losing is definitely not an option for either fighter as the winner will be launched straight back into the domestic and international title pictures and the loser will have a lot of rebuilding to do.
