BoxingScene.com has been advised that Sampson Boxing, bidding on behalf of their partner in Mexico, Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions, won the IBF's purse bid between Alejandro Lopez and Jhonatan Romero. The winning bid was $132,000 dollars. The second highest bid was put in by Gary Shaw Productions at $122,200.20.

The fight is for the vacant 122 pound title that was vacated by Nonito Donaire last year. Lopez (24-2, 7KOs) is currently the number 1 ranked contender under the IBF and Romero (22-0, 12KOs) sits at #2. Zanfer is looking at promoting the fight in March in Lopez's hometown of Tijuana, Mexico.
