Cosmopolitan,Las Vegas - Welterweight contender Konstantin Ponomarev (31-0, 13 KOs) won a workmanlike eight round unanimous decision over Silverio Ortiz.

Ponomarev, who is trained by Abel Sanchez, scored repeatedly with right hands to the head of Ortiz, who took the punches well for the most part.

Both fighters gave the crowd something to cheer about when both traded punches in the center of the ring, with Ponomarev getting the better of the exchanges. Ortiz (35-19, 17 KOs) had his moments, but he could not match Ponomarev's punch output or accuracy. All three judges scored the bout 80-72 in favor of Ponomarev.

Junior welterweight Maxim Dadashev (5-0, 4 KOs) stopped Efrain Cruz in the second round. After a competitive opening round, Dadashev began to land repeatedly onto Cruz in round two.

A barrage of punches momentarily stunned Cruz (4-3-1, 1 KO) midway through the round. Moments later, another accumulation of punches from Dadashev dropped Cruz onto the canvas, prompting referee Kenny Bayless to wave the fight over at 1:57.

Thirty seconds into the opening round, Ruiz (18-0, 11 KOs) dropped Carcamo with a left-right combination to the head.
