MIAMI GARDENS, Florida – Floyd Mayweather landed some flush punches on Logan Paul during the middle rounds of their exhibition.

Never, however, did the retired legend land a shot that concerned Paul in their Showtime Pay-Per-View main event at Hard Rock Stadium.

“No, no, no. I never got hurt,” Paul said during their post-fight press conference. “He worked the body more than I was used to in sparring. When you’ve got a guy like Floyd, who has, you know, been doing this his whole life, he knows every, single button. And, you know, he worked the body more than I had been used to. But nah, no, I do neck exercises. Like, we good.”

The 26-year-old Paul, whose inexperience led many to believe Mayweather would stop him, unapologetically considers it a win to have gone all eight rounds with the man commonly considered the best boxer of this generation. Paul repeatedly reminded reporters and fans that this was just his third fight overall, and that his first two bouts – an amateur match and a professional fight – came against YouTube rival Olajide “KSI” Olatunji.

“I knew if it went the distance, I won, technically,” Paul said. “But that wasn’t the game plan. When you’re fighting a guy like Floyd, you know, the legend, the boxer, you’re kinda relying on him to figure out the game plan and just playing off his [work]. I think I got him with a good shot in that first round, which kinda threw him off a little bit. And yeah, surviving against Floyd Mayweather like is great. He’s my second opponent. He’s my second opponent. Floyd Mayweather was my second opponent and so, yeah, I mean, you know, I’m happy. I’m happy. It was good. It was good fun.”

Neither Mayweather nor Paul was declared the winner because judges weren’t assigned to score their exhibition. Knockout or disqualification were their only paths to victory.

Mayweather criticized Paul for continually clinching him during their unofficial fight. Paul stands seven inches taller than Mayweather and outweighed him by 34½ pounds when they stepped on the scale Saturday, but the former high school wrestler was exhausted by the middle rounds and had difficulty catching Mayweather with clean shots.

“Regardless of my performance tonight, this is my third fight, against Floyd Mayweather,” Paul said. “This is like my second-and-a-half, third year in the sport. Like, what the f--- is going on? Like, let me get a little good. You know?”
