NEW YORK – Junior Younan didn’t even need a round to end what was supposed to be a difficult fight for him Saturday night at Barclays Center.

Brooklyn’s Younan jumped on Dauren Yeleussinov as soon as their scheduled eight-round super middleweight match began on the non-televised portion of the Danny Garcia-Jose Benavidez Jr. undercard. The stronger Younan unloaded power punches that affected Yeleussinov until their fight was stopped just 1:47 into it.

Younan, who fought for the first time in 15 months, improved to 17-0-1 and recorded his 11th knockout. The 36-year-old Yeleussinov (10-2-1, 9 KOs), a Brooklyn resident raised in Kazakhstan, lost by knockout for the first time in seven years as a pro.

Earlier Saturday, Ismael Villareal stopped LeShawn Rodriguez in the sixth round of an eight-round battle between unbeaten  junior middleweights.

The Bronx’s Villareal (12-0, 8 KOs) dropped Rodriguez (13-1, 10 KOs) once apiece in the third and sixth rounds. The action was stopped 26 seconds into the sixth round, following that second knockdown.

Later Saturday night, Dwyke Flemmings Jr. battered Angelo Thompson for nearly two entire rounds, until referee Eric Dali spared Thompson from taking unnecessary punishment during the second round of their junior middleweight bout.

The 18-year-old Flemmings, of Paterson, New Jersey, improved to 2-0 and recorded his second knockout. Thompson (0-4), of Irvington, New Jersey, was still on his feet when their scheduled four-rounder ended, yet clearly had taken a beating.
