Coliseo Roberto Romero Bolivar, Maracay, Venezuela - WBA interim-super flyweight champion Liborio Solis (14-3-1, 7 KOs) won a twelve round unanimous decision over Santiago Acosta (17-9-2, 7 KOs) to retain his title. The scores were 117-111, 119-109 and 120-108. The fight headlined the WBA's 25th annual "KO TO DRUGS" event.

Solis dominated the entire fight and Acosta did very little to change the tide of the action. He tried to push forward with a few attacks in the later rounds, but the champion was able to stop any attempt to steal rounds by using his superior boxing skills and his experience.
