Lewis Ritson will be looking to claim the British title outright in his next fight.

The North East superstar won the belt back in October when he stopped Robbie Barrett in Manchester.

Ritson, 24, then dismantled Joe Murray inside a round late last month to make the first defence before taking Scott Cardle out inside two just last weekend in London.

The victory over Cardle, a former holder of the Lonsdale belt who was beaten by the aforementioned Barrett last year, came at the O2 Arena, exclusively live on Sky Sports, as part of the undercard to Dillian Whyte's chilling sixth-round knockout of Lucas Browne as he retained his WBC Silver heavyweight title.

But Ritson will return to his home city of Newcastle for his next outing, with promoter Eddie Hearn planning a card for June 16 at the Metro Radio Arena.

Paul Hyland Jr., the mandatory challenger to the domestic crown in the nine-stone nine division as well as the current IBF European champion, is likely to be the man in the opposite corner to 'The Sandman' and he will be looking to upset the applecart and stop the momentum of Ritson in its tracks.

The show, which will be screened by Sky Sports, is also set to feature Josh Kelly, the former Team GB Olympian, providing he can get past Carlos Molina on the Anthony Joshua vs. Joseph Parker undercard and wins the WBA International welterweight title on Saturday at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

Further additions to the bill are likely to be revealed in due course.
