Lester Martinez does not stop giving joy to the Guatemalan boxing scene, as he picked captured the Latino super middleweight title of the World Boxing Organization.

At the Polideportivo Centenario, in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico, Martinez imposed his conditions in the ring and managed to defeat local boxer Gabriel Lopez with a tremendous knockout in the fourth round of the contest.

The 25-year-old fighter had a tough test and managed to overcome it thanks to his tenacity and technical quality. From the first round he sought to land hard punches and he succeeded. At the end of the first three minutes, Lopez was already bleeding from his nose.

But, the Mexican boxer did not want to be beaten so easily and tried to recover before the second bell. Martinez showcased his defense and would not allow his opponent to land accurate shots.

Martinez once again took command in the third round - and a devastating left-right exchange sent Lopez down to the canvas in the fourth round, when 2 minutes and 43 seconds elapsed. It was a tremendous hook to the liver wto end the battle.

The unbeaten prospect will join the Guatemalan pre-Olympic boxing team in search of his participation in the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games.

Martinez raised his record to 9-0 with all 9 wins by knockout. 

He made his pro debut in April of 2019, when he knocked out former two division world champion Ricardo Mayorga in two easy rounds. It was the final fight of Mayorga's career.
