Leonela Yudica is less than convinced that she has her unbeaten opponent’s undivided attention.

A massive challenge awaits the former longtime IBF flyweight titleholder, who faces WBC/WBA strawweight champ Seniesa Estrada. Their scheduled ten-round title fight comes as a consolation prize to the undefeated East Los Angeles native, who unsuccessfully lobbied for an undisputed championship versus WBA/IBF titlist Yokasta Valle.

Talk of a four-belt unification showdown continues to serve as the main conversation piece, in large part due to the ongoing rivalry between Estrada (24-0, 9KOs) and Valle (28-2, 9KOs). It’s understandable why Argentina’s Yudica (19-1-3, 1KO) is left to feel like an afterthought—an assumed mindset which she plans to use to her advantage.

“I’m positive that they have underestimated me,” Yudica said in translated comments during Wednesday’s final pre-fight press conference. “I have had a lot of fights, and I have a lot of experience. I defended my flyweight title 10 times.”

Estrada-Yudica airs live on ESPN+ this Friday from The Palms in Las Vegas.

The bout is just the second outside of South America and third out of her native Argentina for Yudica. Her lone defeat occurred stateside and also resulted in the end of her eight-year title reign, when she dropped a ten-round decision to Arely Mucino last October in San Diego, California.

Yudica returned to the win column in a ten-round, split decision over countrywoman Tamara Demarco on March 25 in Los Polvorines, Argentina. The fight saw the 34-year-old former titlist come in at a career lightest 107 ½ pounds, a status which will change on Thursday when she has to weigh 105 pounds or less for Estrada’s titles to be at stake this Friday evening.

“While it is a great challenge to be going down in weight, I am ready and prepared to show that I have everything it takes to become world champion again,” vowed Yudica.

Estrada is listed at -1600 by bet365 sportsbook, who views Yudica as a +900 underdog to prevail this weekend.
