It remained just as intense on day two of the press tour as Leigh Wood and Michael Conlan spoke in front of the media head of their WBA featherweight title fight.

Wood (25-2, 15 KOs) defends his title against Conlan (16-0, 8 KOs) at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham on March 12, live on DAZN.

Following their first press conference in Nottingham on Wednesday, the fighters then headed to Belfast on Thursday, and things picked up right where they left off.

Wood said: “I’m a fighter. I’ve done everything off my own back the hard way. I don’t think Mick has ever been in a 50-50 fight. This is new for him, but I’ve done that and come out on top. I thrive on pressure.

“Mick is trying to convince himself. My greatest assets don’t get talked together, my dedication is everything. I don’t need to nit pick through his performances. I know exactly what I’m going to do.”

Conlan said: “There is no fear in me. I could fight right now and I am ready to go. Leigh is not and he doesn’t need to be until the fight night, but I have stayed professional and been in training since September.

“I stayed in shape and stayed fit, and on March 12 you will hear And The New. I know exactly what it is like to fight under that pressure of fighting at home. I’ve fought there three times and I get it. He doesn’t know what it is like. He will not beat me and it’s as simple as that.

“This fight means everything to me. I’ve taken myself away from both of my children and this is my life. The only thing I know is boxing and believe me on March 12 I will win.”
