WBO cruiserweight champion Lawrence Okolie will be looking to do a real job on former sparring partner, Chris Billam-Smith.

The two punchers will clash this Saturday night at Vitality stadium in Bournemouth, live on Sky Sports Action and Sky Showcase.

Back in March, Okolie came back to ring after a near year-long layoff to win a lopsided twelve round unanimous decision over mandatory challenger David Light.

In his prior bout, Okolie explains that in his bout was a victory over Michal Cieslak, who last month battered Dylan Bregeon - who went twelve rounds with Billam-Smith.

"That guy's a monster," Okolie said of Cieslak to Sky Sports. "Strong as hell. What he would do to someone else who's not on my level. He stopped someone who Chris went the distance with. He's the first person that I clinched and said, 'No, today's not going to be my day to maul him.' I'm hoping that he's a harder fight than Chris."

Billam-Smith is known for exciting action fights, while Okolie has fallen short in the excitement department in some of his recent outings.

If Billam-Smith presses Okolie, as he promised for the last few weeks, the unbeaten champion feels confident that a knockout win is very possible.

"The way Chris fights, he's always all action. He comes to throw a lot of punches, put a lot of pressure on where he's the home fighter, he's going to have 15,000 people screaming for him, hoping that he can dethrone me," Okolie said.

"So I'm going to have to be devastating and he's going to make it very easy for me."

Adding to the storyline, Billiam-Smith will be cornered by Shane McGuigan, who used to train Okolie.

None of the angles have really concerned Okolie in the pre-fight build.

"I've got my own ambitions, my own stuff, unifications, moving up to heavyweight. I've got someone here who wants to take that away from me and fulfil his own dreams. But unfortunately none of his dreams are going to be built on my nightmares. I'm going to devastate him," Okolie said.
