Cuban junior middleweight star Erislandy Lara (15-1-1, 10 KO’s), promoted by Bluewave Boxing and Golden Boy Promotions, is training hard at the Savannah Gym in Houston with his coach Ronnie Shields. Lara is preparing for his upcoming fight against Ronald Hearns, son of boxing great Thomas Hearns. Lara wants to come back in style after suffering a controversial decision loss to Paul Williams last July. The fight is going to take place on February 11th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Showtime will televise.

Lara told us today from Houston - “everything is okay, we have less than three weeks to fight and I’m ready to do it. I feel great, my wife and sons are here with me and they give me peace and a lot of comfort. My sons enjoy being here at the gym, and it is less stress for me with all of them here.”

"This will be a hard fight, but I can say that this time Shields and me have had the best training camp and everybody will see my best performance on February 11th at the MGM."

Lara is hoping to knock Hearns out, and then move forward with a championship fight in the next few months.
