KSI enjoyed his quickest night at the office while still in pursuit of the biggest fight of his career.

The multi-talented British social media influencer scored a sensational first-round knockout of Thomas “FaZe Temperrr” Oliveira. A right hand and left hook put Oliveira down and out, producing the knockout win at 2:19 of round one

atop Saturday’s DAZN+Misfits: X Series 004 Pay-Per-View event from OVO Arena Wembley in London.

KSI (real name Olajide William “JJ” Olatunji) is among the most established and popular figures among the influencer boxing circuit, alongside Jake Paul (6-0, 4KOs)—his primary target. Saturday’s bout was originally to come versus former mixed martial artist Dillon Danis, who withdrew earlier this month due to a lack of preparation and inability to secure a proper training team.

Oliveira agreed to take the fight on short notice, entering on the heels of a first-round knockout of Overtflow on Misfits 003 last November 19 in Austin, Texas. The founding member of popular gaming group FaZe Clan put his best foot forward, training with former heavyweight gatekeeper Malik Scott who now guides the career of former longtime WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.

It wasn’t enough to contend with Olatunji, who owns a split decision win over Logan Paul and who scored two knockout wins atop the inaugural Misfits show last August 27 at The O2 in London. Oliveira did his best to put his four-inch height and significant reach advantage to good use. The 6’4” Brazilian—who now lives and trains in Los Angeles—had brief moments of success but struggled to keep Olatunji at bay.

That proved to be his undoing.

Olatunji came forward and lined up Oliveira for the perfect fight-ending sequence. A right hand landed for Olatunji, who then crashed home a left hook that sent Oliveira hard to the canvas. Oliveira attempted to beat the count but was too far gone to regain his composure in time to avoid the knockout defeat.

Much of the post-fight interview was spent staring down fringe light heavyweight Joe Fournier (9-0. 9KOs), who was in attendance.

That fight could be next for Olatunji, who previously told BoxingScene.com of his desire to land his countryman in the ring as the second of a three-fight plan in 2023. The third of the year is the one that has for years remained on his radar.

"I want to be tested," KSI noted after the win. "I want one more test before I reach that final level, that final point—Jake motherf-----' Paul!"
