Former heavyweight world title challenger and at one time a top contender in 1999 to 2000, Michael Grant (48-7, 36 KOs), continued his sad road to a seemingly not-so-pleasant retirement with a crushing loss to Pole Krzysztof Zimnoch (22-1-1, 15 KOs) in two rounds.

Zimnoch was better in every department in comparison with his 44-year old opponent. He hurt Grant in the first with a right hammer, then pressed forward in the second, finally dropping Grant down on a combination of punches.

The American was up at eight but Zimnoch jumped in, landed a powerful left-right combo, which got it done.

In a major upset, comebacking cosmopolite Victor Polyakov (12-1-1, 6 KOs), who hasn't scored a win for well over five years, edged local favorite Dariusz Sek (26-3-2, 8 KOs) with a split decision over eight rounds. Scores were: 77-75 - for Sek, and 77-75, 77-76 - for Polyakov.

Sek had had a good campaign up until 2013, when he lost to Robert Woge of Germany. His career was a roller-coaster ever since but Sek hasn't been defeated since the end of 2014. Meanwhile, Polyakov's career was a mess. He went 7-0, 6 KOs, in 2006-2007 but fought sporadically for the next four years before heading to what was an imminent retirement in 2012 after a win over Derrick Findley. However, this Russia-born US-mold Ukrainian citizen has resurfaced this year in Germany and went 0-1-1 to undefeated fighters Spas Genov and Toni Kraft.

Sek started well but then fell into a molding, mauling style of Polyakov, who was better in the second. The Pole hurt Polyakov with a left hook in the third but the Ukrainian then got beter and took the midst of the fight. Sek was once again better in the seventh with his opponent snatching the last round.

Light heavyweight Polish amateur standout Mateusz Tryc (1-0, 1 KO) made an impressive pro debut, scoring a dominant stoppage over 42-year veteran Tomasz Gargula (18-7-1, 5 KOs) midst into the third. Gargula has lost his fifth straight.
