The heavily hyped Matt Korobov will finally make his HBO debut.

The 2008 Olympian from Russia will face undefeated Mexican Jose Uzcategui on June 28 in the televised opener to Terence Crawford's title defense against Yuriorkis Gamboa, Top Rank VP Carl Moretti announced via Twitter on Thursday.

Korobov, 31, was a big-time prospect coming out of the Olympics. The middleweight quickly signed a promotional deal with Bob Arum's outfit and latched on with top manager Cameron Dunkin. However, his career didn't go as planned, as he languished in the minor leagues.

Now, Korobov (23-0, 14 KOs) is getting his chance at the spotlight.

Uzcategui, 23, is coming off a knockout win over durable veteran David Lopez. Uzcategui (22-0, 18 KOs) packs big power and should make for an exciting match with Korobov.
