There is a lot of controversy brewing in Mexico.

Michael Koncz, the manager for Filipino Rodel Mayol (30-5-2, 22KOs), has advised BoxingScene.com that his boxer is not moving forward with a scheduled Saturday fight against WBA flyweight champion Hernan "Tyson" Marquez (32-2, 25KOs), which takes place at the Centro de Usos Multiples in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora.

According to Koncz, Marquez weighed in "four times" in a span of "two to three minutes" and the champion was two pounds overweight on his first three attempts. Marquez, who was stripped down to nothing, allegedly made weight on his fourth attempt. Koncz tells BoxingScene that Marquez had an army of individuals around the scale and the Mexican fighter had his feet "hanging halfway off the front of the scale" during his weight attempts.

Koncz complained to a representative from Zanfer Promotions, and a rep from the WBA, and to the local commission. But, it was too late to make Marquez weigh in for a fifth time, because the champion had already started drinking water.

As of this moment, Mayol is not fighting and Koncz no-showed the rules meeting for Marquez-Mayol.

Koncz will make a final decision on the fight, after speaking with Zanfer CEO Fernando Beltran, who arrives to the Mexican city on Saturday.

"I don't believe he is 112-pounds. Mayol came in right on 112-pounds. Then Marquez came on and had about 30 guys with him. I complained to the WBA's representative and to the commission that he doesn't need that many guys on the stage. They didn't listen to me. Then he's on the scale, and then one of the commission guys said he was overweight by 1 kilo. Then 30 seconds later he stepped on the scale again and I told them that I can see that his feet are hanging halfway over the front of the scale, the towel is pulling on the front of the [the scale]. And then they said that he was still overweight," Koncz told BoxingScene.com.

"The one commissioner told the other commission guys to get out the way. He came on a third time. I told them that his feet are hanging off again. Then he came on a fourth time and they said he made weight. So what happened to the one kilo that he was over? This all transpired in 2 and half to three minutes. I complained to the WBA's guy, that there were too many guys on the stage and the towel was pulling on the scale and there were guys behind him touching him and stuff. I talked to the commission, I wanted everyone off [the stage]. Bring back the fighter plus two and have him make weight. They said 'its too late, he already drank water. I said 'what the f*** did you let him drink water when we have a controversy going on.' So I said the hell with it and said 'we're leaving' and we left.'

"As it stands at this moment, I'm not going to jeopardize [my fighter]. With the contract, the fight is at 112-pounds for the title. Mayol made that weight and he worked very hard. As it stands at this moment, I am not going to proceed with the fight. We've been in Mexico six times. I have a lot of respect for the Mexican commission. We've never had a problem before and never complained before. But this city, the commission here, I have no respect for."
