CORDOBA. The land of big champions as Santos Laciar or Gustavo Ballas will be the escenario of KO TO DRUGS, the main event of World Boxing Association. This Friday, at Super Domo Stadium, Panamian Vicente Mosquera will expose his super feather crown against Argentinean Jose Pablo Estrella. “My worst opponent now is the weather, too chilly for me”, said the champ. Estrella is waiting this chance with a lot of hopes.

In a great press meeting at Inter Plaza Hotel, Gilberto Jesús Mendoza, said he is proud to put KO TO DRUGS in Argentina for second year (last one was at Buenos Aires). One of the major attractions of the night will be the presence of the idol of Cordoba, heavyweight Fabio “La Mole” Moli (33-5, 20 KO) exposing his Fedelatin crown against Taras Bidenko (17-2, 9 KO) from Ukrania. Both fighters preferred to embrace before the meeting instead of talking trash.

The weigh-in will be at open air, at San Martin Park, including an exhibition with Gilberto Mendoza and middleweight Mariano Carrera, and two great old timers - Gustavo Ballas and Santos Laciar.

“Argentina has a lot of tradition in boxing and it will be a real nice evening for the WBA in the 15th edition of KO TO DRUGS”, said Mendoza.

Mosquera is 23-1-1 with 12 KO, while Estrella (who will have former world champion Pablo Chacon in his corner) is 38-9-1, 1ND, 16 KO). The fight will be televised to Panama and, of course, to Argentina.

Mendoza told to BoxingScene that the Hatton-Collazo bout will be, officially, for the WBA welterweight world title. “It’s a very important step for us”, he said.
