HEAVYWEIGHT champion Wladimir Klitschko is the massive odds-on favourite at 1-11 on Betfair to successfully defend his IBF, WBO and IBO titles when he fights Samuel Peter at the ESPIRIT arena in Dusseldorf, Germany, on Saturday.

The hard-hitting Ukrainian faces 11-1 outsider Peter in a rematch of their 2005 bout. The sluggish Nigerian was more recently beaten by Wladimir’s older brother Vitali in a largely uninspiring bout in October 2008.

Wladimir won by unanimous decision the last time he faced Peter, and can be backed at 9-4 to come through on points. The 34-year-old is odds-on at 8-13 to knockout his opponent, and is available at 12-1 to do so in the first round.

Peter is a 25-1 punt to win the fight by judges’ decision, while he is out at 15-2 to KO the champ.

Betfair’s Alex Bake said: “The Klitschkos failed to agree terms with the division’s only serious threat, David Haye. So, in his absence, Wladimir fights these guys who make up the numbers. The punters expect this to be nothing more than a training exercise for the big Ukrainian.”
