record a sixth-round, technical-knockout win on the Jack Catterall-Jorge Linares undercard at Echo Arena in Liverpool, England. Referee Steve Gray halted the action at 2:33 of the sixth round, immediately after Farrell went down for the third time in their scheduled eight-round bout.

Bolton’s Majid improved to 12-0 and recorded his fourth knockout. Liverpool’s Farrell (21-8, 5 KOs), who had some success before Majid took control in the fifth and sixth rounds, lost a third straight fight and was stopped inside the distance for the third time in nine years as a pro.

Majid and Farrell fought on the inside for most of the sixth round, until another left to the body from Majid dropped Farrell to his gloves and knees again with 49 seconds to go in the sixth round. Farrell got up by the time Gray counted to eight again, but two more body blows by Majid knocked Farrell to his gloves and knees with 27 seconds on the clock in the sixth round.

Gray stopped their bout before beginning to count after that third knockdown.

Majid landed a left to Farrell’s body and then a right to his body less than 10 seconds before another right to Farrell’s body sent him to the canvas with just over 1:35 on the clock in the fifth round. Farrell got up by the time Gray’s count reached eight.

Majid caught Farrell with his right hand just after the midway mark of the fourth round.

A left hook by Farrell backed up Majid about 45 seconds into the fourth round. Majid cracked Farrell with his right hand about 25 seconds into the fourth round.

Gray warned Majid for a low blow and called for a break in the action for Farrell to recover with 25 seconds to go in the third round. Majid landed a right hand with about 45 seconds on the clock in the third round.

Majid’s left hook to the body got around Farrell’s guard with under 50 seconds remaining in the second round. Farrell’s left uppercut landed with just over 1:35 to go in the second round.

A left-right combination by Majid backed Farrell into a corner just before the bell sounded to end the first round.

Farrell’s right uppercut connected a few seconds after Majid landed a left hook just after the midway mark of the opening round. Farrell landed a right hand to the side of Majid’s head less than 10 seconds into their bout.
