MMA legend Khabib Nurmagomedov is not giving Francis Ngannou much of a chance to overcome WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

It was officially announced on Tuesday that Fury and Ngannou would collide on October 28 in Saudi Arabia.

The bout will be contested under traditional boxing rules. Fury's WBC title will not be at stake in the fight.

Ngannou, a former UFC heavyweight champion, is a very dangerous puncher in his respective sport but has no pro boxing experience.

At 36, Ngannou has a 17-3 MMA record with 12 knockouts.

Khabib believes Ngannou is in way over his head against one of the best boxers in the world.

He doesn't see the ex-UFC veteran as being capable of landing big punches to Fury's chin.

“Tyson Fury, this guy is the best right now. I think Tyson Fury is on a different level in boxing. If they fight in MMA, of course Francis Ngannou has a chance... If they fight in UFC, Tyson Fury has not much of a chance," Khabib told Sky Sports.

“In boxing, I don’t see anyone that can touch his face, maybe [Oleksandr] Usyk. Usyk is going to be his toughest challenge for Tyson Fury."

At the same time, Khabib understands why Ngannou is taking the fight.

“If he can go to boxing, he’s going to make 50-60 million dollars, he has to. Why not? Because I know that Francis has come from a poor life... If someone pays you more money, go and take it, if your goal is money," Khabib said.

Ngannou has been hunting for a high profile boxing match for several years.

“I’ve been waiting to meet Tyson in the ring for the past three years. My dream was always to box, and to box the best,” Ngannou said. “After becoming the undisputed MMA heavyweight champion, this is my opportunity to make that dream come true and cement my position as the baddest man on the planet," Ngannou said.
